Getting them to contact you
The great thing about a good competition is that it gets your public to contact you, and that's just so much easier than getting to them. Although you have to let them know in the first place.
However there is a lot more to competitions than you might think, choice of prize is critical you need to find out what you can offer that's really going to bite. Not wishing to cast aspersions but did you know that many of the national "win a holiday" promotions get less than 50 responses?
Then there are the legal aspects, running competitions where the questions are too easy may very soon be seriously frowned on. Having said that even the easiest competitions will yield a small group of people who are incapable of providing the right answer. But that's not so important...
