Poetry Forms — Sijo
The sijo is nature-oriented like the haiku. It has three lines with 14-16 syllables, totalling 44-46. Each line has a part to play: the first gives a situation or problem; the second develops the theme; and the third line is the resolution. Each piece is stand-alone without a title.
