A collection of poems by the Wordsmith

Sea Widow

The sea's salt spray stings your eyes
And fear is clutched in your hands,
As you stand alone
On the barren quay.

Storm clouds hide the sun
And storm winds bring
The thundering waves that crash
Beyond your enfolding arms.

The storm hides him
Does it not shout
"Here he lies!"
Eaten by the waves?

You are no different to a dozen more
Whose hearts are hidden
By the sea and sky,
And love-consuming storm

Untouched you hold the memory
In tears that fall unbidden,
Seeing nothing but the storm–
Heart wrecked.
