A collection of poems by the Wordsmith

Those that stand opposed

Those that stand opposed
To war for whatever reason
Cannot, in the land of democracy,
Complain
When their legally elected
Representatives commit them to a war
Which they don't really want to fight
On which, in the end they have no say.

And those who do not oppose
But wish to have a hand in
Cannot, in the land of secrecy,
Complain
When their legally elected betters
Commit them to a pre-emptive strike
Which they would like to vote on
And where, in the end they have no say.
