Live by the Rules

There are those who are so weak
That they have not the strength
To break the rules.

The weakest are those who cannot
Even see the rules so that
They break them without thought.

But it takes a strength to stand
And say "This is the rule but,
This one time, it makes no sense"

But the weak-minded who cannot
See beyond the rules
That fill their days...

Would throw out a grandmother
After 55 years simply because
Of their spineless state.
